Check out this cool feature!

Friday, October 30th, 2009

This is cool!

We just installed a theme that converts our full, regular website to a simplified, mobile version.

Try it:

From your mobile phone’s internet browser, go to www.jaymunda.com.

Why it works:

We are using WordPress as the engine to power our entire website from static pages to blog content and more. We adoped WP earlier this year as the platform for most of the sites we build because it’s so easy to use. It also makes for some simple, cost-effective upgrades through its vast library of plugins.

(Even Cooler:)

If I get a brainstorm while I’m driving to my next appointment, I can pull over, pull out my mobile phone and write a blog post right from my phone. Talk about streamlined workflow!

I can help you get your website mobile.

The Secret to Great Website Analytics

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009
First, look at the results. How often do you really look at your website stats? For most people, they just sit there, collecting data and dust on top of that. Google Analytics, a free service, can be set to automatically email you the logs every month.
Second, learn how to read the reports. We’ll help you out with that education for free- just contact Jaymunda to set up a meeting.

Why it’s important: You need to know how your website is being browsed so you can see what’s working and what’s not. Then you can tweak the website to better target your potential clients and make more money!

Add Video to your website – easy and inexpensively!

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Here’s a marketing tip you can do in about an hour or so this weekend…

Create a video that tells people what you do and how. Then, place it on the home page of your website. You don’t necessarily need an expensive camera, you just need to get the message out there.

This year alone, the use of video on websites has grown 34%! Why? 1) It’s easy to tell the story, 2) You can convey a personal message.

Take a look at this example: www.eyefacilitate.com. Mark wrote his own script and used his own camera and the result came out great!

If you want to go the professional route, take a look at this example:www.jaymunda.com/content/company_who_we_are/.
Jaymunda hired Stellar Media to produce this video.

How to start, the Do-It-Yourself way:

  1. Write a script for approximately 30-45 seconds of video.
  2. Practice reading this in front of a mirror.
  3. Get out your digital video camera and set it up so that the camera is about mouth-level (like Mark’s) and tape your script to it.
  4. Start recording
  5. Edit the video using Picasa (free from Google)
  6. Post on YouTube and copy the “embed” code (look in the upper-right of the screen) into your website. (This step may take a little technical knowledge, or ask your webmaster to do this for you.)

That’s it! Now you’re live and telling people your story on the web.

How can I get more web traffic without paying too much for SEO?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Try this on for size: Put up a banner ad (small, graphical advertisement on a website). You can use a pay-per-click service like Google AdWords, DoubleClick or Overture. These can generate a lot of traffic and can be very effective if used properly. These can also cost a lot of money, however, because you are paying per click and whether the visitor buys or not.

Another, less expensive option is to trade your banner with another (local?) company with which you already do business. For example- if you own a flower shop, you might trade a banner with a wedding planner. Put his banner on your website and your banner on his. By trading, you’re helping each other’s business and it won’t cost you a thing!

How can I give people a reason to go to my website?

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Example: doctor’s office with intake forms to save their patients time before their visit. On Jaymunda.com, we have information on how to set up your email account. It’s simple, but keeps people visiting. What information can you give your clients to help them out?

Special Announcement: Help To Local Families

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Small businesses are joining forces with AB Tech Small Business Center located in Enka, North Carolina, to help families in need and Manna FoodBank.

This time of year is a special time of year… We enjoy good times with family and friends and lots of good food. But some families are struggling to put food on the table year round. Please join us in helping families put food on their table this holiday season.

How can I help? By donating any non-perishable item. Simply cleaning out your cupboards of extra food that’s just sitting there is a great way to find a gold mine of donatable food!

Where do I take my donation?  Bins are located at the AB Tech Small Business Center. The food will be delivered to Manna FoodBank each Friday through December 25th.

Please join Jaymunda and other area businesses to help families in the area.  For more information, please contact Jason Syzdek at jason@jaymunda.com or (828) 254-0892 ext. 802.

Thank you for your support in this great opportunity!

Concerned about credit cards online? We are too…

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Many small business owners are concerned about the security risks of accepting credit cards online, but did you know that your clients have a much greater risk of identity theft by someone standing behind you in a fast food line or at the mall?  Plus, most consumers under 50 years of age refuse to make a purchase if they can’t do it online, whether they choose to use the online payment option or not.

Don’t lose business because you don’t accept credit cards online.

We can help. Give us a call for a free consultation. Or go to www.jaymunda.com/ecommerce to learn more.
